Maybe you didn’t know, but the Province of Siena is the first large European area certified ISO 14064-1 arrived, since 2011, at the goal of Carbon neutrality. In other words, absorption capacity equals (at least) carbon dioxide emissions. A goal achieved at least four years ahead of schedule, and fourteen before the other “cleaner” cities.

They are the very first wineries that work “off-grid”, which take care of the ethical aspects of production, both in relation to the environment and employees, or which are also certified to “zero emissions”. This is the true value of a territory already “beautiful”, but made unique by many factors, including the scarce anthropization and Nature did the rest, alternating gentle hills (in other geological eras were the bottom of the sea), mountains of volcanic origin, lakes, fertile valleys. The uniqueness of the territory is such as to give the name to a color “Terra di Siena”. I look at the territory that surrounds me with gratitude and respect and it suggests ; walking, horseback riding or cycling.

Simply, you could sit on the ridge of the hill watching the sunset. The trails are endless, like cycle routes, historical routes rediscovered and become popular as the Via Francigena, so close to me. The potential of the province is thousands of kilometers geo-referenced and selected, some of which are very famous: just think of the routes of the Eroica, also bicycles for rent, guided excursions, the possibility to ride in nature or to experience an e-bike.
